Prasert Nakornkul

"I had been putting off looking at my provident fund statements for two years because I simply did not understand them. The glossary session was two hours and by the end I could actually read the document in front of me. The printed guide is sitting next to my folder now."
Glossary Workshop · May 2025
Linda Hargreaves
Expat, Bangkok
"I came in with a box of letters and statements going back nine years. Three hours later I had a folder on my laptop with everything organised and labelled. That kind of thing takes me days on my own, and I still don't get it right. Really worthwhile session."
Document Digitising · April 2025
Suwanna Thongsuk
Khlong San, Bangkok
"The monthly sessions cover different topics each time and the forum in between is useful for catching up when you miss one. I joined because I had one specific question but I have stayed because I keep learning things I didn't know I needed to know. Would say four stars because the timing of one session clashed with a holiday, but that's a minor point."
Community Membership · June 2025
Robert Menzies
Sathorn, Bangkok
"Clear about what they cover and what they don't — which I actually appreciated. The session spent time on the difference between vesting and contribution, which is something I had never had explained to me. Small group made it easy to ask without feeling embarrassed."
Glossary Workshop · May 2025
Araya Prommas
Thonburi, Bangkok
"My documents were a bit of a mess — some scanned by me at low resolution, some physical, some in Thai, some in English. The session sorted all of that out. The filing structure they built with me makes sense and I've actually used it since."
Document Digitising · June 2025

"I've been a member for just over a year. The forum is the underrated part — you can post a question about a letter you've received and get a helpful educational response from other members within a day or two. Not advice, but enough to know what to look up or who to contact."

More Detailed Accounts
Wanchai Chiraporn
Bangkok — Glossary Workshop + Document Digitising
Starting Point
Wanchai had worked for twenty years with the same company and had a substantial provident fund but had never opened the annual statements. They arrived in Thai and the terminology felt impenetrable. When he considered moving employers, he realised he had no idea what the transfer process involved.
What He Did
He attended a Glossary Workshop first, which helped him work through the statement terminology. Then he booked a Digitising session to get all twenty years of statements scanned and filed in a consistent structure. He left with a clear archive and a printed list of official contacts for queries about fund transfers.
What Changed
He could read his most recent statement without confusion, had all his records in one accessible folder, and knew which body to contact for information about his specific situation. He contacted the relevant official body directly and handled his query with their guidance.
"I came in knowing almost nothing about my own pension records. I left with a folder I can actually use and a clear sense of where to go next for the things that go beyond what Anchorline covers. That felt like real progress."
Frances O'Brien
Expat, Bangkok — Community Membership (18 months)
Starting Point
Frances had pension contributions in two countries and found the correspondence from each impossible to reconcile with the other. She understood broadly what she was accumulating but not how the paperwork across the two systems related to each other in plain terms.
What She Did
She joined the Community Membership, initially attending a session on reading international pension correspondence. She then began using the forum to share her questions in general terms and received useful educational context from other members with similar situations.
What Changed
After six months of monthly sessions and regular forum use, she had a clear enough grasp of the terminology to prepare specific questions for a qualified professional. She felt the membership gave her the foundation to use that professional consultation much more efficiently.
"The sessions don't tell you what to do — and they are honest about that. What they did do was give me enough of a vocabulary that when I eventually sat down with someone qualified, I wasn't starting from zero."
